Viewing Private Folders

I have a user that mistakenly created private folders, and moved e-mails into them. We (the IS Department) recently upgraded our server to 6.5.2, and since then the user claims that the e-mails located in the private folders are all moved around. Problem is, I can not view the private folders, not even when I give myself manager access to the database. It appears that whoever creates the folders is the only one that can display them. According to the Domino Help, it is true that only the creator can view the folders, but it says that anyone with manager access can also view the private folders. It does not work for me.
If there a trick to viewing the private folders?
Thank you very much for your help.

Have you tried opening the database with Ctrl-Shift ?
Hold the keys down then double-click the mail icon for that user - it should list all views and folders, included the hidden ones.
Therefor, if you have manager access it should show private folders too.

Thanks for the command to display the folders, I had forgotten about that one. It displays all kinds of interesting folders, but not the private folders that the user created.
I conducted an experiment with private folders, using a user's account no longer needed. I logged in using the user's id file, and created one private folder. I then entered the same user account through the Domino Administrator (not under the user's id), and created three private folders. Interestingly, if I log into the user's account using their id, I only see the private folder they created. If I log into that same account through the Domino Administrator, then I only see the three private folders I created, and not the one the user created.
If appears that no matter what the authorization, the private folders are only displayed for the person who creates them.

Another interesting item. I noticed that in the folders area the words "Other Private folders", when I use the "Ctrl-Shift" command, BUT it does not list the private folders. I deleted all three private folders that I created, and the "Other Private Folders" still comes up, but does not list the private folders themselves.

Interesting. I know that private folders had always been in the warning list of developers - but R5 and 6 were supposed to have changed that. I'll ask the question around, I might get a good answer on this.
By the way, you might not see them because they can be stored in the user's desktop, and not in the database. Although that is not the first option in the list when you create a private view/folder, it is a possibility.
One way to make sure is to access the db from your post with the users ID, then from his post. If you see a different list of private folders, then that means some of them have been created in the desktop file of that user.

Thanks again for your response. I will conduct further testing to see if the private folders are created on the local hard drive.
