Is there a way of viewing a the contents of viewing individual users mailbox in Exchange 5.5 to check for its content?

Install Outlook98/2000 on your exchange server..it has an option to open other users mailboxes as Administrator.

You should be able to log onto any computer on the LAN as the exchange administrator and use Outlook to switch over to the mailbox you want to view.

Hope this helps as well,

Matthew

You will need to allocate permissions to yourself as a user through Exchange Administrator then you can view what you like. For all users, allocate permissions at the site level rather than at the mailbox level.

To save yourself a lot of time, simply add your user account or general admin account to the site under Exchange Administrator.

I've assigned my user name there so that I can view any and all mailboxes as necessary.

Ah, the power of being a network admin! :) Jason Wilder
