Viewing images inserted in Outlook 03 emails

I've searched the the forum but can't find anything similar to my problem. I'm using WinXP, Outlook 2003. When a photograph is sent to my email as an attachment, it views as gigantic in size. Others receiving the same photo on their computers, view it proportioned correctly inside the email.

I've scanned everywhere looking for a setting to adjust, but can't find anything that changes the viewing size. What am I missing?
