I'm currently learning about Ethernet 802.3 frames and I would like to figure out a good way of intercepting them and taking a look at them so that I can apply what I'm learning to what they realyl look like in action...anyone have some tips?
ethereal and/or packetyzer are good free analyzers.
connect the preferrably to a hub instead of a switch and you will see what you are lookin for.
if you see all the different ethernet frame formats, will depend on the network you are connected to.
