ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If no joy, right-click the network icon in the notification tray and hit Repair.

XP is relatively lazy about renewing DHCP obtained IP addresses. See:
Depending on the driver set for the network adapter, you may want to right click the notification tray icon for the network connection and select disable. Then move the machine. On restoring the network connection, do an right-click again, Enable, and the a right-click Repair.

Not a IP addressing issue, users Outlook connects to the mail server once he plugs back into the network. Thanks anyway, I will continue re-searching.

Start, Run, CMD
netsh winsock reset catalog

Wait for the prompt. Reboot.

You should only have to do this once.

What is the syntax for this command. I think I'm typing it wrong:
"netsh winsock reset catalog"

The following command not found: winsock reset catalog

Thanks
