First of all, I am VERY new to Citrix and how it works, so I may have some terminology or concepts wrong. (Sorry!)

I have a client that has distributed Crystal Reports that run locally, but when trying to access through MetaFrame or Term Server only the initial dialog box comes up. Trying to run it only an hourglass comes up then goes away. From looking at several suggestions from this forum and Crystal Decisions, I tried to copy the dll's from the userprofile\windows\crystal to \windows\system. I also tried to see what files get copied when running a distributed report setup and copied those into \windows\system as well. Still no luck.

Please Help!!

The reports were created with CR v.7
Running on a win2000 server.

Try putting the files into \Windows\System32

If you still have problems, try using Filemon (out of hours) to check for any file access issues.

I hope this helps

Filemon is a Citrix admins best friend!

Get it from
What it does is to track every file operation on the server - so don't run it on a busy Terminal Server!

You can then import the log into Excel as a CSV, and search for any anomalies, such as File not Found or Access Denied.

It's amazing how many TS issues can be boiled down to 4 things;

Paths, Permissions, Profiles, Policies.

I hope this helps
