Will everyone (client) trying to view reports on a server, have to have crystal reports in order to view them?

I believe it works like this: if you're using Crystal Enterprise (with CR 8.5), which is one headache after another but works very well once you struggle through it's assinine idiosyncrasies, they don't need any special software. If you're using pre-8.5 (I think), browsers will need some kind of 'viewer' to see them.

So the question is this-- which version and edition are you using?

I have not used 8.0- I believe it's 'viewer' is some kind of ActiveX deal and needs to be downloaded. Someone who actually knows what they're talking about will set us straight any moment now...

The first time a user runs a web report, Crystal Web Services will download a viewer, Active-X or Java, to the user's PC. The user will get the same type of message everyone gets when they encounter a web page with ShockWave, etc.: Will they accept a control from Seagate?

Be sure to read and understand the new licensing terms for Web applications that went into effect with V8.
