I want to put a button on a form which will first open a new record and then unlock a field which is locked in the form when viewing existing records. When I create a button from the form design toolbar, it has a macro but I don't know how to get to the code so that I can build the unlock function into it.

As an alternative, if there is some way to put the unlock field function into the macro, that would work.

1. When you create the button, click cancel as the wizard begins to help.
2. Right click the button.
3. Select properties.
4. Select the Events tab.
5. Click in the box for the OnClick event.
6. Select the ellipse (...) to the right.
7. Type your code.
