I am in need of data from a shared / networked Access 97 db, but have 2003 loaded. Can I view the 97 db with my version, without converting or corrupting the 97 db?

Yes, you can. Just don't select to convert the DB, select Open. You will not be able to make changes to the database, but you can view all of the data.

Hope this helps,

lbigk

You could always link the tables from the 97 database to the 2003 database, that way you avoid the annoying messages and the risk of accidentally converting the database - you'll have access to the data.

Great input! How do I go about linking the tables from the password protected 97 db?

Tick the remember password checkbox when you create your linked tables.

Hope This Helps, PH.
