View Workgroup Computers

View workgroup computers is showing no computers, then says it unaccessable and see the system administrator.....i have tried everything including:

-ran set up small office network wizard
-uninstallled and reinstalled NIC
-Shared the C drive
-unchecked the firewall on networking advanced setting tab
-uninstalled network utilities and reloaded them under
-add/remove programs

this is not the first tiem i have seen this either.....so i figure someone knows how to fix it.....i need to share my printer on my home network, but i can't get at it because the computer it is on can't even see itself.

when i run "search for computer' and type the name of computer in it it sees it.......can anyone help me on this

. TCP/IP Properties, Advanced, WINS tab, 'enable Netbios over TCP/IP'

. Since it is likely Simple file sharing is set to its default setting, enable the Guest account.
