i created a 3 column view. the first column is categorized and sorted. when i preview the view in notes, it looks great, but when i preview the view with my web browser, all of the category titles appear with a twisty, but none of them will expand to show the data below them. what am i doing wrong? please help!

In the view properties, under the beanie tab (advanced), did you choose "Treat contents as HTML", or "Use applet in the browser" ?

In simple views, HTML is a good choice. A 3-column view with one categorization would qualify as simple for me. You can choose the applet, but loading times will be the penalty for fidelity to the Notes version.

Pascal.

i have tried the html selection as you suggested, but now the browser shows me lines of continuous text all joined together. So then i tried the applet selection, which gave me the categories again, but with no twisty to see the data below. what can we do now? please give me other suggestions to try. i am greatful for your response...

You did say that the Notes view shows the twisties ?
Do you have the "show twistie when expandable" option checked in the Column properties of the first column ?

Other question : in the first column, how is your data justified (right, center, left) ? It should be left for the categorization to display correctly.

Pascal.
