How can I use MS Outlook 2000 to view, send and receive messages in my account in Hotmail? What incoming and outgoing servers should I use to setup in Outlook? Please help me....

Thank you so much for your help.

if i remember (aint got OL in front of me)...

IF you click tools>accounts.

Add a mail account, it should ask what type (POP, web ect.) if you select web, then it asks details - but you should just be able to select hotmail.

Just follow instructions and fill details

Thank you for your reply, however, I have already tried it but it still does not work. Do you think I have to define the kind of server to use?

Hotmail will not work with Outlook. It only works with Outlook Express.

I stand corrected.

Thanks.... i know i did it somewhere like that.

Why is this??

You can do this SMAH - I have a few users that do it.
As Plank suggests - there is a selection for Hotmail as well - since it's an MSN product.

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Select the e-mail server used for your account, and then click Next.
Note: If you are setting up an MSN e-mail account, click POP3 for MSN Internet Access version 5.3 or earlier, for MSN Explorer, click HTTP.

In Outlook 2000, there is no "Accounts" under "tools".

Your directions are correct for many versions of Outlook Express but not Outlook 2000.

My bad -- in Outlook 2000 you have to go to TOOLS then SERVICES

This has been been changed in Outlook XP.
Hotmail is fully functional there. *Remember.......

your going to have to use your feet.

my bad smah - I had XP on the brain

forgot there was a "RESOLUTION" for 2K and not a direct way to do it.
