How do I view different layers in different layouts? (Have AutoCAD 2000&2002)
I have drawn a drawing in model space with multiple layers and want make different paper space layouts for viewing. How do I make it so only the layers I want to see show up on the slected paperspace?
I thought freezing in paperspace would work but it doesn't.

To freeze or thaw layers in the current layout viewport

1.From the Format menu, choose Layer.
2.In the Layer Properties Manager, select the layers to freeze or thaw and choose Show Details.
3.Select or clear Freeze in Current Viewport.
4.Choose OK.

I tried this and it freezes the layers on the other paper space layouts too.
For example- If I want to draw a house with electrical and hvac layed out on the same floor plan in model space and I want to make a tab in paperspace for each layout with the correct layers on, freezing a layer will turn it off on both the electrical paperspace tab and the HVAC paperspace tab

Borgunit is correct, but it appears that you are confusing FREEZE with FREEZE IN CURRENT VIEWPORT.

What you should do is

1 Click in the viewport you want to freeze layers in

2 Click the layer dialog button

3 Scroll to the right

4 Freeze the layers in the "Current" column

5 Click OK

You can find out more by searching for "Layer Properties Manager" in the AutoCAD help

Thanks for your help Nick!
When I chose the paper space layout I wanted I needed to change to model space and then freeze the current layers. I was still in paperspace trying to do this.
