If a note is sent from User A to User C and bcc (Blind Copied) to User B, is there any way User C can pick up the bcc and realise the notes also been sent to User B?

Thanks,
Peter

I don't think so. The information of the user(s) who receive the blind copy is stored in a field called InetBlindCopyTo. The mail documents of the sender and the blind copy recipient both contain this field, but it is missing in the document of the user(s) that are listed in the fields 'To' and 'cc'. In your example: The memo documents from users A and B contain the field, but it is removed from C.

I believe this field is only used when an external email is sent - ie . Internet Address such as joe.blogss@home.com. If the mail was sent internally, would this mean that the field BlidCopyTo would also be missing?

Thanks Lamaar75@hotmail.com

Yes, it would also be missing. I tested it with internal addresses in our mail domain (Version 5.07.a). Naturally I assume that you use the standard mail tepmplate from Notes, and not an altered one by one of your programmers. That could change the scenario as they could have integrated something that results in this function not working properly any more.

If the original sender copied himself and he then forwards that copy or if the BCC'd recipient forwards his copy, then the riciepnt of the copy will see who had been Bcc'd.

Yes he will, but he will not see all BCC recipients if there are more than one, he will only be able to see the BCC entry of the one who forwards the BCC mail again.
