Can I view that a station has MW light lite on it (the 2000
loc fea ext XXXX will show what's on the plid)can I do this on the 200? also how would BL turn that MW light off remotely?
As Always Thanks in advance for you help
BL
to my knowledge you cannot view message waiting remotely. The only way I know of to turn it off remotely is to remove the set from programing, not always a good thing to do if they have call forward on etc. Although you can view call forward in MyAdministrator with feature level 4.
It's been a while since I touched a 200 but if memory serves... If you have a console (SC1000), and you turn on COS option 321? (Transparent Multiconsole Operation), then you can view and delete message waiting from the console under the Att Function/ Stations Functions.
Also, if the set in question is a multibutton set 420, 4025, 5020, 5220 then the message can be read and/or deleted by pressing the message key while the handset is down.
Thanks for all the great advise the problem with using the console is it's a hotel and they get a large turn over of personel. I'm in Texas and the switch is in Hawaii I was looking for a way remotely to check the active features such as in the 2000 with the loc fea ext command. I guess I could delete and reinstall the station and the mailbox and then reinstall both
Thanks again,
BL
Don't forget call forward of the set when re installed which can be done thru MyAdministrator as previously mentioned. I find though MyAdministrator does not work as well on the ICP as it does on the EL.
I use Procom Plus also but MyAdministrator can be used as a troubleshooting tool when the customer says there is no call forwarding or you want to enable call forwarding remotely to mail etc.
Where the set is forwarded can be seen from this app.
It is free.
The Remote aspect is definitely a major hurdle. I believe the maintenence reports will reveal whether the lamp is on or not. Reports/Status/Ext/XXXX. If the initial screen does not show the status press 1 (CP????) for a more comprehensive view. As to turning it off remotely, you're hooped. I'm not sure you can even delete a station that has a lamp active on it. It'll say "station in use" or some such.
If you have a console available (as it seems you do) trust your customer, work out the exact sequence and write it down for them.
Deleting the phone should be a last resort as some features may be active that may be difficult or impossible to reinstate remotely (forwarding for example, especially if forwarding is to a speedcall for inband vm)
Idealy I would convince my manager that a site visit is required (Hawaii, sigh...)
I agree deleting the set is a last resort but sometimes you have to resort to that. I use MyAdmin to view the call forward and if call forward is on reapply when the set is reprogrammed.
Because this is a hole I believe in Mitel's maintenance side sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
I've been there 5 times this year alone so that shouldn't be a problem I usually try and fly there when I'm in my California home. I have 8 Fujitsu F9600 over there I also take care of, what do you think the cost of MyAddmin is?
MyAdmin is free, you get it with any upgrade or off Mitel on Line.
It doesn't always work the best, some problems with connecting on the ICP, worked great on EL
