I have an Aopen AGP 4MB video card installed in a fresh copy of WIN2K. after the initial installation the card was fine 32 bit color and 1024x768 res with higher res possible. I installed the "Critical Updates", and my settings got blown away. I then installed SP1 thinking it would straighten itself out. No dice. I can change the settings to no more than 256 colors at 800x600 res. when I reboot it's back to 640x480 and 16 colors. What gives? Everything installed and configured as Administrator, uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers; same situation. The box the card came in said it was WIN2K compatible. I just picked up an ATI Rage card to swap in, but I am still curious as to why the settings got whacked? Any Ideas?

Thanks

did you check if the drivers you loaded was for W2K? that might be the culprit.
