Trying to install ATI all-in-wonder-pro AGP 128 32MB RAM into HP Pavillion PIII system w/ W98...Driver loads properly but system freezes when changing screen resolution...Why?

I would firstly remove the ati card ..put the old one back in...do a complete uninstall of the drivers...change the driver to the generic SVGA supplied by windows, turn pc off..reinstall new card..switch on and load new drivers...sounds to me like the system is still trying to use the old drivers.

easier yet, just go into safe mode, device manager, remove ALL video drivers, reload windows normaly, install ati drivers. I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment of it.
