I have a fairly new AMD setup (64 3700+); 1Gm RAM and a 6600GT AGP graphics with Windows XP. I have a problem with viewing video on this computer; whether it is an AVI from my digital camera (looks fine on my laptop) or viewing a video clip on CNN. YouTube video seems to work fine.

Where do I look for the problem.

Thanks

Steve

There must be a software suite installed with your graphics card, where you will find adjustments for the "overlay" window. (brightness, contrast, gamma)

Videos are played through this "overlay", so these adjustments will allow you to do it without changing the rest of the screen on your display.

You will also find similar adjustments for the 3D games.

On my old ATI 9600, these parameters are badly set when programs start, and I have to use these utilities to rebalance the video and 3D windows. Unfortunately, the newer drivers did not address the issue. Yu may have more luck with your card.
