I'm developing a digital business card cd and am wondering what would be the best video format to use to play cross-platform.

Do AVI's play on the newest version of Quicktime?
If I used an AVI, it would play on Windows with no player needed. But if I played an AVI on a Mac it would load automatically into the Quicktime player (if Quicktime plays AVI's), would it not?

Also, what are the pros/cons to using mpeg format for movies?

Yes, Quicktime will play avi's just fine and if theres not a problem with space on the cd, then I would used an uncompressed format of avi for performance, and to make sure that a special codec isn't needed on the computers you are showing it on. However, Quicktime will mot play mpeg or windows media so stay clear of those if you can. :) hope this helps you out!
