I'm using a gEforce 4 TI 4600 on a Pentium 4 and it has worked great for 7 months. Now suddenly the screen randomly flashes red horizontal stripes for a few seconds before returning to normal. And sometimes the screen turns a solid shade of red for a minute. I updated to the new drivers but that diddn't solve the problem. Also it was working fine with the old drivers for several months since I last updated.

I also noticed that the card ran extremey hot from day 1, much hotter than any other card I ever owned before.

1) you can try adding a fan to cool it

2) you make no mention of the age of your monitor?
does it get moved/turned alot? have you checked (wiggled the cord when it's a solid shade? .. is it the type of monitor you can get a replacement video cable for? you might try that ..also, if it's an old monitor.. it can simply be a color tube going in it.
