Dear Folks,

I have done a fresh install of win2000 advance server. Now my video driver is not working. It was running all right with win98.
When running a video CD, I am just getting the sound not the picture. What could I have done wrong or need to to.

This machine has TV tuner card abnd fireware for camera. When try to tune a tv program display is jumping. Where do I need to address for the possible problem.

Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.

Jay

Have you tried installing the windows 2000 drivers for your hardware, and also a program which allows you to view VCDs?

(quite a good one is PowerDVD)

I am using Windows Media Player to see VCD. It did work all right before under win98 . I did not do any manual video driver install after win2000 installation. Is that a requirement.

probably, yes :)

Windows 2K sometimes has the correct drivers installed, but it is ALWAYS advisable to get the latest driver from the company's website.

Media Player should be fine. Did yoy get any messages regarding missing codecs when you tried to watch the VCD?

I have installed Pixelview software which came with it. Still when tring to view TV or VCD it's jumping frequently.

There are quiet a lot of driver with few differernt optioned to pick. How do I know what exactly the hardware inside the box.

What resolution is your screen currently set to? that'll tell me if you've got a decent driver installed.

Failing that, go into the control panel -> System -> device manager
that'll tell you what hardware you have.
If any are marked with a small yellow triangle, you'll need drivers for that device.
