Hello

I need to know whether there is any Pc interfacing card
available in the market for video conferencing using the regular telephone line as available worldwide.
(like between two PCs in the same city)

also advise me if this link would suit my needs?

Regards
Rehan

Need more info. 2 PC's connected via what? The internet, 56K analog dialup modems over POTS, ISDN BRI? Currently dialup POTS lines are limited to 33.6Kup/56K down. In the video world, common rates are 256K, 384K, 512k, 768K TWO WAY. I have been told by many users that 256K is not worth the effort due to the poor quality. If your bandwidth is less than or equal to 256K, it may not be worth persuing it any further.

PictureTel and Zydacron offer CODEC cards that are compatible with H320 standard for voice, data and video. These are designed to operate over ISDN only I believe. You use 2 B vhannels with each channel being 64 (or 56K). Both companies support a T120 channel which allows you to send data during the video confernce with minimal notice to degredation of video or voice transmission. When utilizing ISDN lines it is important to have the phone company commission the lines properly - without proper commissioning you have poor connectivity - although once you do get connected your quaility will be the same. By technical design a H320 (ISDN) video conference is better than the H323 (IP) video conference - unless you have dedicated bandwith for the H323.
