We have a polycom cideo conf unit.

If we plug it straight binto some BT BRI it works fine.

If we plug it on to the an SO8 module it wont answer.

The prog is right, i can see the lights flashing on the SO8 module so i know the call is ringing the port.

Any ides why it may reject the call?

Coming in over PRI to a hunt group that contains virtual user, forwrded to shortcodes etc.

The trace shows the call ringing the SO ports so the set up is right, it just wont flippin answer.

Any ideas anybody at all?

i did it with systems shortcodes
incoming call route pointing to the linegroup id's of the so8 lines

shortcode like

7072924
dial
7072924
401

etc etc etc

Yes, that is basically what i have done.

The call is presenting to the SO ports but there is something about the call the poly doesnt like so it isnt accepting it.

weird.

im speaking to polycom about it but any advice as always gratefully taken on board.

i wrote it wrong :)

incoming call route with destination to the shortcode

shortcode has line id of so8 port
so no huntgroup at all !!!!!!!

Just to clarify what i have.

SO ports 701,702 and 703.

Line grp ids 701, 702 and 703.

Shortcode

701 . dial 701
702 . dial 702
703 . dial 703

Thre virtual users forwarded to those short codes with forward hunt group calls.

A hunt group containing the three v users.

One DDI pointing to that group.

So the ddi can be rang 3 times and trip from one SO port to the next and fill the three up.

Like i say the prog is working, it rings the ports, it just wont answer.

i used 3 ddi
lets say numbers 400111 ,400112 and 40113

i made three shortcodes

400111
dail
400111
line id 701

400112
dail
400112
line id 702

40113
dail
400113
line id 703

three incoming call routes with destinations 400111,400112 and 400113

I understand what you are saying, what we have is effectivley the same thing, the incoming call route is ringing a short code that rings the SO.

Only difference is mine is coming via a group and users because they want to just use 1 DDI.

This is how i always have done it, its just this one that doesnt work.

Its not some thing to do with the group not being a voice call or any thing silly like that.

i have this working on a system 1 DID to the polycom. do they see it ring on the polycom and just cant answer it. Doses the polycom have the right numbers programmed into it?

>Its not some thing to do with the group not being a voice call or any thing silly like that.

I'll second that!

I reckon that using a huntgroup will tag the call (in ISDN terms) as a voice call rather than data. I think the polycom accepts data calls only.

PG - try it with direct ddi and see what you get!

Take Care

He is trying that today.

Cheers guys.

can't see why the IPO would tag the call in Hunt group as voice. Video conf sets up on the D channel of ISDN, the IPO can't change that.

PG, can you set all incoming routes (Data & Video) not voice on the DDI to that group.

The DDI voice will ring through to the So ports alright but not on D channel.

Cheers

Its set to ANY which should do the same as you describe, i should have put it on my earlier post.

Thanks for your input.

Okay, lets ignore the avaya side.. in the polycom, do you have the ddi number set with the correct digits. The polycom has to recognise and match the number to set up the call.

So the amount of digits i have set in my incoming call route, there is a setting in the polycom that needs to match that amount?

Hmmm, that may explain it because when they plugged it straight into the BT ISDN it worked. Maybe the actual network is only sending 6 or something where as the incoming call route has the full number.

Have i got what you are saying correct?

yes, has to match exactly. All 3 ports programmed the same, hunting enabled on BT side so DDI rings across all incoming channels.

Can you dial out on the conf phone?

I think so yes.

I will keep you posted once the guy has attended site this aft.

Thanks.
