Hi Guys,
Probably not the right forum to ask, but can someone direct me to a good video editing program that's either not expensive and worth the price, or an open source free one?

I have about 70G of 8mm camcorder video that saved as huge avi files and I won't to compress them to a reasonable size, with a huge loss in quality.

I put 12 GB on a DVD and it didn't look that bad when i played it on the DVD player, so I guess I could put them on DVD, but none-the-less, I'm still always looking for a good video editing and compression program besides Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks!

you probably need a converter, it will convert from one file type to another...

I used at home software from many sources, some free others not...

Free:

Any Video Converter

Commercial:

Xilisoft Video Converter
