I have a new video card with nothing written on it except 3DFX but I don't know what it is so I can download a driver..there are a few numbers on it but nothing that makes sense..how do I find out exactly what card I have?
any and all help would be appreciated

Put the card in the slot, power on your computer, and read the screen display that's on the monitor even before the bios startup display. You can read there which video card processor you've got.

No matter who made your video card (in the cases of Voodoo2 and Voodoo Banshee, 3dfx made all voodoo3/4/5 cards), you can use the 3dfx reference drivers at

when I install the video card and power up it is not seen by the computer so I have to find another way to figure out what it is...

Well, how many monitor hookups does the card have? How many graphic processors are on the card? Is it PCI or AGP? Does it have S-Video out? Does it have a heatsink only, heatsink & fan, or neither on the graphic processors? If you can answer these, we can narrow down your possibilities.
