I just bought a brand new computer and I tried to install an old Law & Order game that is a couple of years old. The game ran fine on my older system, when I try to run it on the new one, I get the audio but the screen is black, does anyone know if my settings for the new computer video card are possibly too high for the game? Any suggestions/tips are appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

I don't know the specifics of that game; but here's some comments anyways. A lot of early 3d games were written for 3dfx video cards & used Glide, and to use OpenGL they needed a patch before they would properly run.

Also, try turning off all video accelleration, that's done in the advanced display settings.

And, there are some Win98 based games that do not work in WinXP, and sometimes the game developer released a patch, sometimes fans of the game write a patch themselves, and sometimes no patch exists. Search on google and see if there is any help there.
