Hows it going guys i have a bit of a problem here i have a pinnacle AV/DV Studio video capture card and i am trying to capture a clip from vhs i have connected up the card and everything but when i go to display the image i get a distorted image of it scrolling across the screen i have messed around with different settings but to no avail any ideas anyone

First of all, try an input from a stable video source (like a video camera). A VHS is a tough device to interface, as the syncs jitter a lot. TVs can compensate quickly enough, but the sync circuits of capture cards can have very hard times with some VHS machines.

If there's still a problem using a camera, you have to find if the problem is in the capture card, or with the system.

Is this a USB or IEEE1394 device, or a plug-in card? Is is programmed to support your TV standard? (NTSC or PAL)

I use Studio with an AllInWonder 9600 as the capture device, and it works great for me. But I use it with my video camera, not a VHS.
