Vi problem handling file >~50MB in AIX? 1

Hi all,
How can I overcome this problem with VI in AIX, than it gives the following error when openning files (text) greater than ~50MB.
ex: 0602-101 Out of memory saving lines for undo.
There is some info about this on IBM support site, but no patch for download.

PS. there is no limit on resources for the user, there is enough space in /var/tmp, /tmp.
