Back in '06 there was a request for help adding linked files to the VI export utility. The answer suggested to use Excel instead of VI. I encountered the same problem some years back and a Best rep guided me through a fix. It involved the 'Run' command using a system utility. The problem seems to be that VI only lists the file links that are referenced in the main file (i.e. IM.ITEM references AP.VENDOR for field PRIM_VENDOR_NUMBER in IM1). Although you could link the file, it would not show up in the DATA tab. I wrote the procedure down as the Best rep explained it, but I misplaced it. It did work. I still use ver 3.71. Is anybody out there familiar with this? VI is great for exporting data that requires field level calculations and I do not want to rewrite it in Excel. I do not know if it would even be possible. Thanks for reading and hope someone can help.
