Hi there,
Currently, I am using my on board monitor slot. I recently purchased a ASUS A9250 and plugged it into my VGA slot.
However, when I try in install the dirver for it (CD rom that came with it), its saying that it cannot detect the hardware.

Is there a way to find out whether my VGA slot is somehow damaged (i really hope not :) ) or is there a place where I have to enable it before I can start using this new graphics card?

Many thanks :)

Check in the bios to see if it is set to use the agp slot. Most of the MB's out now are set to auto select but some you have to do a manual set up.

Some of the motherboards also have to have jumpers changed to disable the onboard video and use the video card. If you can get onto the manufacturers website for the Motherboard or if you have the manual that came with it, it should tell you there.

How old is this computer? VGA cards are designed for 1.5 volts, 2.5 volts, and 5.0 volts depending on the age of the motherboard.
