VGA disabled Vaio Desktop No Display

A friend bought a digital LG monitor, and somehow disabled VGA display support. She has onboard video- we bought a pci nvidia card. I cannot reenable VGA, hence after the XP home boot screen it gors blank. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated!

Start the PC in SAFE MODE.
Usually by hitting one of the F keys (to get to safe mode option) but I have know idea exactly which one it is on a Vio.
This will allow you to add/remove drivers or reset resolutions etc.

Should be able to press F8 to get into safe mode.
