installed 4 new ones and as I build ports they do not register-they are all in not found status?Do I need to cable from the VGC port to the location jack and then to a device IE: fax machine/modem Etc.in order to make them register?Also I cannot reset the gateway.I get an error that states the gateway has firmware below 2.0(1) and reset is not supported.

Hi,

Yes you will need to plug a device into the port and take it off hook for the port to register.
