How many analog phones can you put on 1 VG248 port ? I am talking about if you terminate the port on a wiring block then daisy chain to add the same number to multiple analog sets. Thanks

If I understand you right, you have several devices punched down to a 66 block and those in turn are on your 248.

I have an emtpy port on my fax vg-248 and I punched down 4 lines to simulate. All 4 phones rang at the same time.

I will be doing this at a branch site but on a smaller scale.

Sharing a fax line and 911.

Hope this helps.

Please remember to rate helpful posts........

the REN equivalence is 3 (maximum 2 off hook) according to Cisco. But 1 REN not exactly equal to one phone so 4 might be a bit much but if it works it's all good.

Also Iwontremember, I would hope you have more then one line for 911 especially if you are sharing it with a FAX, or I would not want to be in your shoes if someone needs 911 and some long SPAM fax is inbound.

I was told VG248 are not available any more- is this true

I have purchased quite a few recently. Mostly open box on ebay, but they are still in distribution. I just checked Ciscos website and I don't see any end of sale notifications on the VG248. Just the VG200.

It is what it is!!
