I need to upgrade the IOS on my VG224.
Cisco says the new IOS needs DRAM 128 MB and FLASH 64MB.
How do I verify that is available in my system ?
show version tells me that 'DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled'
But that is all I have found for sure.

Any help is appreciated

sh hardward - last 2 lines will show you your DRAM and CF info.

Thanks gnrslash4life
I think I have it, but I want to be sure...
(and Tek-Tips is a lot faster than Tech Support)

Cisco says I need 128MB DRAM and 64MB FLASH
Can anyone confirm from my show hardware below ?

Looks like you have 64MB each. How old is the VG224?

Thanks for your help on this.

We have 3 VG224
1 was purchased 3 years ago
The other 2 were purchased last year.

All 3 look exactly the same at the show hardware command.
Doesn't the 119808K/11264K bytes of memory mean 128MB of DRAM ?
The 62496K bytes of ATA Slot0 CompactFlash was my question about FLASH
But it wasn't a complete 64MB.

Or am I just reading it all wrong ?
If so, I am more than willing to be corrected.

No, I read it wrong. Bytes also do not = KB, MB, etc. Anyhow, you're fine. Worse comes to worse you may need to delete other IOS files off the CF card. This is ok to do, if you need to upload a new file to it.
