I have setup and configured the 224 voice ports interface as follow:

voice-port 2/0
ren 3
disconnect-ack
loss-plan plan4
idle-voltage high
disc_pi_off
input gian 10
output attenuation 10
playout-delay minimum low
timing digit 53
description Analog_Stu_Ste
music-threshold -50
bearer-cap Speech
station-id name ****
station-id number **********
caller-id enabled
!

however I can't define the end points in the CM for this gateway, so the analog phones will not out call and you can't call them and make them ring...

what am I missing in the configuration of the CM?

Help this isn't like the Vg248's....

When you say you can't define the endpoints in CCM, what version of CCM are you running?...You should be able to go to CCMAdmin -- Device -- Gateway -- Add a New Gateway (link in the upper corner) -- select VG224 from the first drop-down box -- select MGCP (or SCCP, depending on your CCM version), then click Next. Make sure on the next screen you select ANALOG from the drop down box under Installed Interface Cards. Click Insert; select 24FXS on the Subunit drop down and click Update. The endpoints should appear; you can click on any individual endpoint and configure it individually.

If your CCM software isn't up to date (latest version is 4.1), you might not have support for the VG224; you'll have to install the latest device pack to get support for it.

If you are setting up your VG224 in a protocol other than MGCP or SCCP (are you using H.323?)? If you're using CCM, why not set up the VG224 via SCCP (very easy setup and minimal configuration)? Also, your VG224 must be running IOS software version 12.3.7T6 or higher to support the SCCP commands.

Thank you, I found the issue it was odd, the CCM, which is at 4.1 saw the IP address however the 224 wasn't registered... as soon as I figured out how to get the 224 registered with the CCM, the endpoints/ports where then configurable.

I'm setting these up so I can use them, with some STU and STE, encrypted phones. Do you know of any other issues I might face with those?

Thanks for your help.
