I am using a vg224 for my fax machines and have some faxes that when I dial outbound some digits are not recognized but if I use a standard 2500 set on the same port the call goes out fine, any suggestions?

try "fax relay" enabled on the VG port on the callmanager port config

also make sure it is enabled on the VG itself globally and per port (telnet to the VG)

and also on the VG web page

until i configured all 3 to match and to be fax relay i could not ever get a fax cal lto work but all voice calls did work just fine

FYI also i have a CMM module in the mix which needed a fax relay command...

Cisco's best practice did nto work for me, which had fax relay disbaled i believe

HI MG2005,

Are you using VG224 MGCP image?

Where do you config fax relay for vg224 in callmanager?
and if you have an MGCP gateway where do you config fax relay?

Regards,
MC

I'm using vg248 with MGCP..with CM 4.1

i thought we did add a fax relay cmmand of some sort ot the voice gateway but i dont see it...so disregard that for now

i believe the vg224 is the same to config as the vg248 so you would see fax relay on the actual callmanager web admin for the port you are configuring

it's the very last config option (drop down window)choices are enable ro disable (I enabled to get it to work)

also it may need to be done on the VG itself globally by telnetting to teh VG
