VFPOledb Reccount() Mistaken?

Doing a .net ExecuteScalar against a VFP table with all deleted records. It returns a null value. If you "undelete" one record, it then returns the proper count. Using the latest VFPOLEDB (8.0a) provider.

Has anyone experienced this? Am I wrong in thinking this should work against an "all deleted" table?
