VFP9 and XP Pro SP3 and odbc

VFP 9 sp 2 installed.

How can I get the odbc driver for VFP to load on XPProSP3?
When I go into the DataSource Administrator I can add the DSN for Excel and dBase but not the VFP ones.

I downloaded MDAC2.5sp2 , but when I tried running it the installer said that the MDAC was already installed. I tried finding an MDAC2.6 that had VFP support but could not find one. i downloaded and installed Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro 9.0 , but while it did create directories and the Northwind samples, still no ODBC capability. (btw: where is one supposed to put the vfpoledb.msm file?)

VFP controls do show up in the DataSourceAdmin drivers tab, though they all show as version 1.x as opposed to 4.x for just about all the other drivers.

so, any help would be greatly appreciated

OLE DB Providers have nothing to do with ODBC. Instead, download and install the VFP ODBC driver (
