VFP still is a great tool to use.
Here present version if 9 and it has a huge advantage accordint to VFP6.
Unfortunately VFP9 will be the last version of the VFP. Microsoft decides to stop developing VFP longer, they will support the language till 2015, but after that who knows.
As a middle tier between SQL Server (or ANY other database) VFP is unbeatable and will be many years (till the OS stops supporting 32 bit applications).
