VFP Report Writer - problem with SUM

I recently reinstalled VFP9 sp2; after rebuilding my apps my reports are now all wrong; I have several variable with calculate by SUM and what is happening now is:
It adds the firstline; next record adds the second line + the first again etc etc so virtually doubling the actual amounts
This is now affecting all reports using calculate SUM

Any help welcome as I am desperate

Check the 'Calculation type' for both the variable and the associated field and make sure you don't have them both set to 'Sum'.
