VFP - help on a Smartphone with Android ? 5

Would it be possible to transfer the Help which is included in VFP into a readable document for an Android Smartphone?
So often I have to wait somewhere or I am travelling.
What is more interesting than to read and learn instead of reading nonense in twitter etc.
And not always I want to wear a laptop with Windows with me.

Just a question.

There are a lot of CHM to HTML PDF converters, when you google it.

The simplest is to change the CHM file extension to ZIP and unzip the help, you'll see it's a bunch of HTML and any OS can deal with that.

Just a few CHM -> PDF converters to get you started:

Once you have the file as a PDF, copy it to your Android device in the usual way, and then use the device's PDF viewer to access it.

Note that I just got the above links from a Google search. I don't know anything about the quality or reliability of these tools.

There are also tools available that can convert from CHM to HTML (which you can open in the device's browser) or MOBI (which you can access on your Android device with the free Kindle e-book reader). But keep in mind that the target format might not support the full range of CHM features, such as the hierachical table of contents, the index or the favourites tab.

Hi Chris, Nigel and Mike,

I would like to thank you very much for the versatile help that I get from you again and again.
Now I have full stuff to learn more about that wonderful VFP.
Although I haven't been to this forum for many years after my retirement, I can say that nothing negative can been said about this great forum the whole time up to today and again and again when it comes to the quality of the answers.

I never have any arrogance or know-it-alls noticed here.

These answers also contain a lot of useful hints that will help me further.

I am also glad that many people from the "old core" are still here.
(Not all of them anymore, unfortunately - I also like to remember Ramani, Mike Gagnon, Craigsboyd, Chris Chamberlain, rgbean - to name a few - where are they all today?).

I hope they are all still alive.

Thanks for those kind words, Klaus. I've always been happy to help out on Tek Tips when I've been able to, and I'm sure that goes for the other regulars as well. After all, they wouldn't be regulars if that was not the case.

Personally, I have probably received more help from various forums over the years than I have given in return. I go back to the old Compuserve days (before the world-wide web was universal). It was a great help to me in those days, and gave me good start, not only in dBase / FoxBase / FoxPro, but in many other areas as well.

Regarding your "where are they now?" list, it is a pity that we have also said goodbye to several others. Olaf Doshke is the most obvious example; JRB-Bldr also comes to mind. But Mike Gagnon is still very much around. Among others who are still active are Griff, Nigel Gomm, Mark (mjcmkrsr) and Dan Freeman. We also have one or two new regulars, notably Chris Miller. (My apologies to any other names who I should have mentioned here but didn't.)
