Does anyone know if VFP 5.0 application has any conflict when installed on a network environment? The setup file is compiled with Visual Studio Installer.

The application works fine on a stand-alone machine. But when installed on a network, the application does not appear when clicked (the icon was point to the network machine where it was installed, and the user privileges are properly set too.) Any suggestion on what could be the cause of this problem?

Is the link pointing to a mapped drive like g:\ProgramDirectory\program.exe or to a UNC Path like \\Server\Share\ProgramDirectory\program.exe ?

If using UNC try mapping the drive and giving it a try I at times have had problems with UNC under some coded conditions.

If the application is using a Config.fpw file, remove the line :
SCREEN = OFF

Have you installed the VFP 5.0 runtimes on each of the local workstations? Minimally you'll need to register them, even if they only exist on the network. Note: If you do run with both the runtimes and your code file on the network, you'll experience a great deal of extra network traffic - in some cases this can really slow down the application. The more workstations on the network running this way, the worse it will get.
