For a customer I have created a number of VFP applications that enables them to enter text in any language using the Microsoft RTF-control. In order to enter Simple Chinese we have decided that the person entering data should use TwinBrigde to enter these characters. This has worked like a charm...till now.

Last week someone in China sent over a Word document (in RTF format) with Chinese text included. The nice part was that I do not need TwinBridge to see Chinese it is all included in the RTF-file and it display without a hitch on several of my machines (NT-WS and W95).

Considering the fact that it is RTF and that it is possible to select some part of the text, copy it, opening a new document and pasting it into the new file and have it displaying it as Chinese I would have expected that this should also work is I pasted the text into the RTF-control. It works fine when doing this Polish etc but the Chinese gets all garbled up.

Is there a problem with the RTF-control? Has anyone come accross this feature? Is there a workaround?
