Hi All,

I'm going from foxpro 7 to foxpro 9. We haven't touched the code for the reports, other than rebuilding everything in VFP9. We are now using FoxyPreviewer in the startup program.

This report looks like a normal 8.5 x 11 paper when ran in VFP 7, but now it print previews as a really long LEGAL size page and looks silly.

Any thoughts as to resolve this. Any chance my predecessors had a setting on the FRX itself to make it legal by accident and it just didn't use to work?!

Thanks for any advise.

Ok, so it's weirder than that. I found that this prints to pdf as normal, it's just that the print preview skews the information so that it Looks like its in legal. I have no idea why some reports to and some don't have this problem.

Thanks for any ideas, if anyone's experienced this with FoxyPreviewer. . .

Can you clear something up? You say you haven't changed anything, but you're now using FoxyPreviewer. Does that mean FoxyPreviewer is actually a change?

This sounds like a support question for them.

I will disable foxy previewed and report back. Thanks danfreeman!

One thing you should check is the report's printer environment.

In the report designer, go to the Report menu, and look for an entry called "Printer Environment". Is there a tick against it? If so, click on the entry to remove the tick, then save the report.

The printer environment is essentially a collection of settings relating to the physical printer to which you are printing. If, during development, someone printed the report directly from the report designer, then any settings related to that printing (the choice of printer, paper size, no. of copies, etc), will get saved with the report. This is not what you want, which is why you should always make sure the printer environment is switched off.

Having said that, this does not completely explain the particular behaviour you are seeing. But it is the first thing you should check when you see a problem of this type.

I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS!

Ok, so this is silly, but I found that there was a Line object across the page that had a width of over 10.65. I changed it's width to 8.00 and it looks fine in FoxyPreviewer. Weird!

Thanks All!!
