Does anyone know if a VFP 9.0 application (exe) will deploy on Windows 98. Yes, I know someone still using a Windows 98 pc as a "somewhat" server and the other computers are link peer-to-peer.

Their current app is in 7.0 and I would like to upgrade it.

From the help file:

You can create and distribute run-time applications for Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or later, and Windows XP.

DanFreeman above is correct the compiled run-time applications will work fine.

But developer installations of VFP 8 or 9 are not meant to be installed on WIndows 98 or Millennium Edition, just Windows 2000 or newer systems. Some have tried to make them work there by adding GDIplus.dll (version 3102.1360 dated 05/04/2004 or newer) to the VFP directory but it would be like running a horse race by riding a donkey. The system would be horribly slow and limited by CPU speed and available RAM.

You should also know that Microsoft is ending all support for 98, 98SE, and Millenium in July.
