Can I use fxp and exe compiled with VFP9 SP1 on computer without SP1 Runtime?

thanks

It would probably run, but I'd expect it to throw some errors.

Jim

Actually, I've seen a number of instances where a SP1 EXE would fail to start if the RTM runtime was found earlier in the search path.

I recently read a statement from the Fox team at Microsoft which said the same thing (sorry, I can't remember where I saw it).

In thread184-1171596, JimWWinter quotes Ken Levy on this subject.

I think if you add proper runtime files in same folder as the application, you will never have problems.
I think it isn't very good idea to install runtime files in common location, because you can rewrite runtime version for other VFP applications.
