This is on my brother in laws xp pc. When he prints an email with a few replies in it, the bit he has written always prints, but sometimes, the bit the other bloke has written doesn't. It leaves enough space for the text, just all blank.
I suppose this is to do with fonts and what his printer does when sent text in an odd font? But surely if he can see it on screen in some font, then he should be able to print ok.

Anyone any clues?

Possibly the other bloke's part is in a color that the printer is out of?

No it's is black, or supposed to be. I did suggest to the wife that he should try printing on black paper to see if it came out in white, and she believed me!

petermeachen,

what you see on the screen can be very different from what will be printed. The tipps i give are from my Outlook experience, therefore menu etc might be different in OE.

1. Open an email that had that issue, go to File -> Print Preview. What you see there will be send to the printer.

If you see the full content there you at least know that Outlook is distributing the information correct and the error possibly lies with the printer.

2. Check "Page Setup" in Outlook: File -> Page Setup -> define Print styles. Check that the correct paper/margins etc settings are applied there.
We had an issue were a user had "letter" instead of "A4" setup and it did cut off text to wrong margins.

3. de-reinstall the printer/try different driver. Most printer drivers come in different versions. PS, PCL, PCL5/6. Sometimes the printer driver is manipulating fonts. We had to change these for some users as certain driver woudlnt display the fonts correctly.

Cheers
