Very Strange Record in Table

Can anyone help with the following

I have built a DB and all seems fine - users happy etc

Unfortunately I have had two occasions where the record entry on my main table is stored as strange symbols where text should be and where numbers should be, very long numbers
A sample of the strange symbols are shown below

I have tried to delete the record and get the following message

"The Search Key was not found in any record"

I haven't worked out yet what is causing it so any pointers would be useful

Sounds like one of your data entry PCs has its language settings wrong.
