Very Slow Internet Performance

Hello There;;;
I've only one PC in the Company i've worked in has problems with exploring the Inernet.... ( Very Slow Performance )
O.S windows 2K professional with SP 2.0.....
Internet Explorer Version is 6.0

Please Advise....

First I would apply all the service packs and patches available for windows 2000, including IE6 with sp1. It fixes a lot of problems...

If that doesn't help performance...is all your network settings you got proper dns or proxy if you use it etc.

Is the pc slow on browsing on the lan? Maybe your network card need new drivers or its configured wrong (full duplex etc).

An easy thing to do is changing the network cable just in case its faulty...hardly ever happens but its not usually the first thing people check.

Try clearing out your temporary internet folders and temp folders, then update and patch your machine (

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com).

You can also try updating your drivers and defragging your hard drive.
