Hi there all,

Here is the situation:
1. Installed Mercury on Win 2000 Pro
2. Moved the server to a Win NT 4 Server box
3. Copied Mercury directory over to Win NT server

Now what happens is that when I send email from our client machines running Windows 2000 Pro & Microsoft Outlook 2000 the sending of an email approx. 1.5MB takes ages. Other parts of the network run 100%, ping is <10ms. Let me just make it clear that this is sending the email to the Mercury SMTP server and not our ISP's SMTP server. Even if I try to send email locally on that machine using the smtp server, it takes ages.

Could it be that it's because I just copied the files over from the Win2k box? Is there something I can try which someone can suggest?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kindest regards
Chris

An easy way to check is to back up the mercury directory, install mercury using the installation files, then copy over the relevant ini files and mail folders from your backup. Also, make sure you create any subdirectories that are defined in the ini's (if you did any customization).

You should also turn on session logging to see what's happening.
